Recharge With Aromatherapy Oils and Feel Their Therapeutic Relief

Recharge With Aromatherapy Oils and feel their therapeutic relief

If you are feeling sluggish and tired, you may want to consider using aromatherapy oils to help you get a second wind. Aromatherapy oils have been treasured for their healing and restorative powers for many centuries.

If you are feeling a little tired, you should consider aromatherapy oils like peppermint, lemon, grapefruit, and lavender. Peppermint oil is also a wonderful way to rejuvenate aching feet and legs. You can make your own restorative foot soak by adding a few drops of peppermint or any of the citrus oils to a basin of warm water. If you don’t have time to soak, why not add a drop or two of peppermint oil to your lotion and massage the scented lotion onto your feet?

For people with colds and congestion, there are some aromatherapy oils that are ideal for clearing nasal passages. Try eucalyptus oil, lemon oil, wintergreen oil and rosemary oil. You may want to use a drop or two of one of these oils on a warm washcloth or in your dehumidifier. Of course, before using aromatherapy to treat illnesses, you should always talk to your doctor.

Finally, you may want to use aromatherapy oils to make your home smell wonderful. Popular scents include rose, lavender, vanilla, and citrus oils. They can be sprayed on potpourri or heated in a diffuser.

When using Aromatherapy oils you should treat them as drugs. They should never be taken internally and can be dangerous if used in undiluted forms. Also, if used regularly in large quantities or improperly they can have adverse affects. It is possible for essential oils to cause skin irritation such as rashes. It is best to consult an aromatherapy practitioner and to do as much reading and research of your own as possible.

Aromatherapy oils should be stored in cool, dark places, in dark glass bottles. Clear bottles are not recommended. Rubber eyedropper tops are not recommended either, as the rubber can become gummy. They are flammable, so you should keep this in mind when you are storing your essential oils.

Here is a list of essential oils and their affects for beginner aromatherapy users.
