Candle Lanterns for outdoor and indoor use

Most commonly when people think of candle lanterns they think of large metal and glass lanterns that hang from a hook and can only be used outside. This is far from the truth. It is possible to find candle lanterns made from all sorts of materials and for all different types of uses outdoors and indoors.

There are candle lanterns ranging in size from very small, holding only a tealight, to very large, holding a small pillar candle. Larger lanterns can be used outside to light around a patio, walkway or door. They can also be used as yard decorations if you are having an outside event at your house. Lanterns are easily hung from poles secured in the ground or from hooks on the overhang of a roof, just make sure that they aren't hanging too close to anything as the smoke and heat can cause damage.

For indoor use candle lanterns will be on the smaller side. One that holds a tealight or votive is best. They add a unique decorative touch hung from a fireplace mantle or in the corners of a room. They are also nice hung over a table. Ensure that they are hung high enough that they will be out or your way or that they are hung in a place where you will not need to walk under them. In front of a window is another good place to hang candle lanterns.

You can also use candle lanterns at special events, like a wedding reception. A series of lanterns hung at different heights adds a nice decorative accent. Secured on a hook over a buffet table or beside the arch of a doorway. They are uniquely simple and they create a pleasant atmosphere.
