There is a relaxing joy and pride that comes from making handmade candles. It is a craft that can be done alone or shared with children, family members or friends. With projects ranging in difficulty from easy to expert you can take your time and learn the ins and outs of making your own handmade candles.

One of the benefits of making your own candles is that you can make them exactly how you want them. Your handmade candles will be the color and shape that you want and you can decorate them with ribbon or paints, strings of pearls or little shells. You can use a mold or make your own mold, choose your own scent and give the candle a finish of your choice.

It is fun to display candles that you've created yourself and it is a good way to spend a few hours in the afternoon. There are many book with instructions on how to make different types of handmade candles and the more skilled you get at making candles the more you can let your creativity fly.
