By Alia KubeWhat is a Soy Candle? If you enjoy burning scented candles, you may have seen a soy candle or two. However, these candles can cost more than other candles. What exactly is a soy candle and why should you use this type of candle instead of other varieties? A soy candle is made with an ingredient found on many farms, the humble soybean. Soy candles can come in a wide range of colors, as soy holds dye easily. In addition, soy blends well with essential oils to create aromatherapy scented candles. Unlike other materials, which often only hold the scent of the essential oil in the first few inches of the candle, soy holds the scent until the candle is burned down completely. While most candles are made with a nonrenewable material created from petroleum called paraffin, the soy candle is created with environmentally responsible and renewable soybean crops. These candles release fewer pollutants into your home and burn much more steadily. So, if you are looking for a candle that burns better and is good for the environment, why not take a look at the soy candle? After all, there is no sense in burning a candle to relax, only to pollute the air you are breathing in with petroleum fumes!
