Natural Soy Wax Candles, an Alternative to traditional paraffin Wax Candles

When looking at candles there are a number of options. Traditionally candles have been made from paraffin wax, but recently soy wax has become popular. Soy wax candles are a more natural product made from soy beans. They are typically cleaner burning than paraffin wax candles because they do not give off the same harmful by-products. The wax also melts at a lower temperature so, soy wax candles do not produce as much heat.

You can find soy wax candles in a number of varieties: large and small pillars, votives, jar and containers, or floating candles. There natural color is an opaque white and they have no natural scent, however they are most often found in a range of colors and with a variety of different scents. Since, soy wax candles have become so popular, just about any candle that was traditionally made from paraffin wax can now be found made from soy wax.

It is even easy to find aromatherapy candles that are made from soy wax. There are defiantly benefits to buying soy wax candles, but this does not mean that they are necessarily better than paraffin wax candles. Soy wax tends to be more brittle than paraffin wax. Although, when burned properly a high quality soy wax candle is often cleaner burning and will last longer than a paraffin wax candle.
