Nothing sets a romantic mood at the dinner table quite like taper candles. These graceful, long candles can be displayed in candle holders of all shapes and styles, including elegant crystal holders. Taper candles can also be used in wall sconces to add mood lighting to other rooms in the house.
While many taper candles come in solid colors which range as the rainbow, you can also find decorative tapers in marble patterns or intricate designs. For the holidays, you can even shop for candles with Christmas, Hanukkah, and winter themes.
Of course, the most important thing is that your taper candles burn brightly and cleanly when you use them. Soy candles burn much more cleanly and last longer than those made with paraffin. In addition, look for candles with a high quality wick that runs through the entire length of the candle. You may also want to shop for candles that are designed to be almost drip free, which saves wear and tear on your best table linens.
Once you find the perfect taper candles, why not buy a few pair so you can light a set the next time you invite some friends to dinner and still have an unlit pair to display between dinner parties.
