Give Votive Candles as a Gift or use them to add touches of color and light to your homeVotive candles are some of the simplest candles that can be used to add touches of color and light to your home's decor. Votive candles are some of the smallest candles you'll find being only one and a half inches in diameter and around two inches tall. They are excellent for decorating bathrooms, window ledges, bookshelves and small end tables. You can group a few votive candles together in matching holders, or just set one out to give a hint of glowing light. If you are looking for a gift for someone, votive candles are excellent to give on any occasion. You can wrap a couple of them up together with some tissue in a bag, box or basket. You can add in some special soap, bath salts or some type of luxurious bath product. Or you could give some votives and holders with a bottle of wine or a potted flower as a house warming present. Votive candles will always need to be burned in a heat-resistant holder or cup. This will prevent the wax from dripping on your furniture and it is a general safety precaution for burning any type of candle. You will most commonly find glass votive holders, but there are other types. For example, there are metal candle lanterns and wall sconces that hold votives. Although they may be made out of metal their is usually a glass cup to hold the votive candle in. You'll find votive candles made from soy, gel, beeswax and paraffin wax. They are usually around the same size so all types of votives will fit in any votive holder. They also come in any number of colors and with a range of scents. |
